SPRING BALL (March-May)
Registration
(formerly Shooting Starz Rec Lacrosse; EQL assumed responsibilities as of October 1, 2007), is a boys lacrosse league played from mid-March to the end of May. Our coaches consist of professional players, college players, high school players, and parent volunteers.
Age Divisions:
- Mini's (K-2)
- Groms (grades 2-4)
- Youth (grades 5-6)
- Middle School (grades 7-8)
Team Selection Formula:
- Group by Age, then by
- School or Zip Code
- Players assigned to teams based on date registered; once teams reach capacity, players will be assigned to teams with spaces available
- It is encouraged that you sign-up early to avoid being placed on a team out of your school/zip code
- No Same Team Requests will be accepted; our team selection formula should accommodate the majority of would-be requests
Format
- Maximum 23 players per team
- 10 vs. 10 lacrosse: 1 goalie, 3 defense, 3 midfield, and 3 attack on the field at one time, and the remaining players will be substitutes.
- Season features 8 regular season games, one practice per week, and aditional playoff game/s
- Games will have two running timed half's
- Penalties are 45 seconds and 90 seconds running time
EQL Spring Ball Features:
- Each player will receive an "EQL" jersey
- Early registration is $195.00 = (3-8 grades) and $150.00 = (K-2) (all sign-ups done online)
- Receive EQL T-Shirt at end of season
- One practice per week (weekday)
- Saturday's - Minimum 8 games (possible weekday games depending on field space)

- Experienced Staff - some coaches with professional playing experience.
- Access to new turf field (St. Mary's)
- Partnership with the Men's Southern California Lacrosse Association. Every Sunday in April and May, the SCLA Club teams will play 3 to 4 back-to-back games in Newport Beach at Peninsula Park (beach field). The SCLA teams have current/former pro players & former college players; not only do you get to play EQL SPRING BALL, you get to see some of the best players in the area showcase their talents for you for no additional cost
What do I need to play?
- Helmet, Shoulder Pads, Mouthpiece, Protective Cup, Gloves, Arm Pads and Rib Pads (optional).
- Goalies will need a Throat Guard and Chest Protector

FALL BALL (September-October)
Registration
EQL FALL BALL is a “games-only” league played from September to October. This is not a league for first-time players since we do not have practice. It is best that you have at least one season under your belt before you participate in FALL BALL.

- Early Registration Fee is $175.00; late fee assessed after August 17th, 2008
